Birds of Prey is a dynamite girl-powered superhero movie exploding with ultra-colour and a butt load of fun. Yan’s wonderfully stylised film isn’t afraid to get silly (and sweary) compared to the royal mess that was 2016’s Suicide Squad. Think of a slightly tamer Deadpool without all the insufferable meta BS.

Joker review – a thrilling rendition but no masterpiece
Joker is a gritty and thrilling contemporary adaptation with an awards worthy performance from Joaquin Phoenix. A disturbing and demented origin story that breaks down the iconic Batman villain and strips him raw. What we’re left with is a frail, damaged and vulnerable member of a failed society… Even so, the film doesn’t break as much ground as one might expect.

Even if you weren’t a big fan of 2016’s villain outing Suicide Squad, you must admit that Margot Robbie carried the film with her balls out performance of the popular Batman villain… so much so that the all-female Harley Quinn spin-off Birds of Prey is now here and the first trailer has dropped.

Justice League review – not Wonder Woman, but still an improvement
The long-anticipated Justice League is finally here, and it’s totally fine. Amidst all the negative criticism and predictable Rotten Tomatoes backlash, it’s still a fun and entertaining ride.
Wonder Woman review – everything you wanted it to be plus more
Wonder Woman is without a doubt, one of the best superhero films of recent years. It’s popping with energy, charisma, and superb storytelling. Gal Gadot is unstoppable and a perfect fit for the Amazon princess. It took 75 years of waiting to get this character from comic to screen, but it was worth it.
‘Gotham City Sirens’ is next Harley Quinn movie
So there’s so much happening in the DCE universe that it’s almost hard to keep up. We’ve got Wonder Woman coming out next year, followed closely by Justice League – let’s hope that these two films will restore our faith in the DCE universe after the ‘mixed’ reviews of Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad. There was also news a while back that Margot Robbie would be getting her own Harley Quinn spin-off movie, because let’s face it, she was the coolest thing about Suicide Squad.
