Cheesy dialogue and a messy narrative make this a confusing outing. It’s a wonky blend of the original Alien and Prometheus. Apples and Oranges.
Contemporary director Terrence Malick (Tree of Life, Knight of Cups) is back with Song to Song, a romantic drama set to open South by Southwest this year.
Fassbender has had a busy and interesting career so far. He’s cemented himself as one of the indie darlings of this decade, impressing critics and audience alike with a talent for fleshing out an endless variety of characters in independent cinema where he can have the creative control that he deserves. Just look at his performances in Steve McQueen’s films like Hunger and Shame or the award winning Fish Tank.
Assassin’s Creed, like majority of movies based on video games, has been copping a hiding, but for what it lacks in plot and character development, it makes up for with mesmerising fight scenes, stunning visuals and all round bad-ass action movie realness.
It’s probably been one of the most anticipated trailer build-ups this year, right up there with Blade Runner 2049. The magic of Ridley Scott. But can we expect something similar to the original Alien? Of course not, but this trailer is impressive and haunting nonetheless. Mind. Officially. Blown.
