Drive-in cinemas are back in the Czech capital for the first time in 20 years! Perhaps this is one of the better things to arise out of quarantine? Enjoy the cinema experience from the safety of your own car. Don’t have one? Might be time to invest!
The Future Gate Sci-fi Film Festival is upon us and will boast an impressive and eclectic mix of titles this year, including classics like the The Fifth Element and Terminator 2.
Valerian is a complicated sci-fi cat. Like Besson’s The Fifth Element, it relies heavily on style and quirk, but lacks complexity or depth in its two youthful characters.
After a lot of appetising set photos, the Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets trailer (that’s a loooong name) finally dropped yesterday and saying that it’s epic is an understatement. This is a CGI fest of massive proportion. It’s also Besson’s first sci-fi movie since The Fifth Element. Which is probably one of, if not the most memorable and entertaining sci-fi films ever made. Big shoes to fill. Starring Dane DeHaan, who seems to be in everything lately including the new Gore Verbinski project A Cure For Wellness, and model turned actress Cara Delavigne (Suicide Squad), with the poetic Beatle’s classic ‘Because’ (must have been hard to get the rights to), ladies and gentlemen, the Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets trailer.
