After a disappointing last few episodes, the finale got the ball rolling again, but unfortunately it all came a bit too late. Still, some wonderful performances and very creative art direction.
American Gods takes us away from the main plot again to fill us in on the backstory of Mad Sweeney. Not a particularly rewarding or relevant episode. It's time that things got back on track, but next week is the finale...
Episode 6 sees us get back into the road trip side of things. Two road trips in fact, both equally strange, and confusing.
Gillian Anderson is back as the truly twisted 'Media' and her many guises, including an uncanny David Bowie impersonation. A lot more of the newer gods in this episode, including the welcomed introduction of Crispin Glover as Mr World in a truly psychedelic prison break scene.
Despite Emily Browning getting a chance to show off the intriguing and powerful character that is the dead wife Laura, Ricky Whittle's Shadow continues to be little more than just a pretty face.
