Maleficent: Mistress of Evil review – Jolie takes a back seat as Pfeiffer steals the show

Maleficent returns in a sequel that attempts some big ideas relating to violence and terrorism but crumbles a bit when it inevitably caves into being ‘just another kids movie’. All in all though, it was invigorating to see two equally ambiguous female villains go head to head.

Murder on the Orient Express is an underwhelming whodunit. It takes itself way too seriously and doesn’t sell itself as a classic Agatha Christie tale. For its fantastic all star cast, it falls surprisingly flat in some moments.
