Director Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream) returns to the psychological horror genre with Mother!.
Aside from the fantastic cast led by Jennifer Lawrence, project details have been kept well under wraps. However, the first full trailer may suggest some kind of satanist agenda? Knowing Aronofsky, it’s probably going to be very psychological. What a trailer.
In sadder news, resident Aronofsky film composer Clint Mansell will not be returning for Mother!, and is handing the baton over but Icelandic composer Johan Johansson (Arrival, Sicario), and I can’t wait to hear what he does.
Mother! also stars Javier Bardem, Kristen Wiig, Domhnall Gleeson, Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer, and will be in select cinemas from September.
