Jojo Rabbit trailer – see lots of Prague in Taika Waititi’s new WWII satire

By Ryan Keating-Lambert

The Prague filmed Jo Jo Rabbit finally gets its first official trailer, and it’s full of familar streets, buildings and countryside in and surrounding the Czech capital.

Directed by the ‘visionistical’ Taika Waititi (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Thor: Ragnarok) and based on the book ‘Caging Skies’ by Christine Leunens, the wonderfully quirky JoJo Rabbit is set in World War II and focuses on German boy ‘Jojo’ (Roman Griffin Davis) who discovers that his mother (Scarlett Johansson) is illegally hiding a Jewish girl in their Berlin home.

The Fox Searchlight film is Waititi’s first since his hilarious contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Thor: Ragnarok.

The film will no doubt be a strong contender at next year’s Oscars considering its all star cast, which also includes Thomasin Mackenzie, Sam Rockwell, Rebel Wilson, Alfie Allen, Stephen Merchant, and Taikia Waititi as Hitler himself… not to mention a lot of local Prague actors!

Jojo Rabbit will hit Czech cinemas January 23, 2020.
