Scarlett Johansson is on board for the new WWII satire Jojo Rabbit directed by Taika Waititi.
Based on the book ‘Caging Skies’ by Belgian/New Zealand author Christine Leunens, the film is set in World War II and focuses on a German boy who discovers that his mother (Johansson) is hiding a Jewish girl in their Berlin home.

On top of his directorial duties, director Waititi will be opposite Johansson portraying Hitler himself.
This is the native Kiwi director’s first big film project after last year’s hilarious Thor: Ragnarok. Waititi has also been busy with final touches to the What We Do in the Shadows pilot, a series based on the 2014 film.
Jojo Rabbit is currently being filmed in both the Czech Republic and Germany.
The film also stars Sam Rockwell and Rebel Wilson.
