The new trailer (and title) just dropped for Star Wars: Episode IX, The Rise of Skywalker… and the internet is going berserk over the possible return of one of the franchise’s most iconic characters.

After The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson changed everything up, for the better in my opinion, The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams is back for the final entry in the new trilogy, which features the return of some of the universe’s most beloved characters like Lando Calrission (Billy Dee Williams) and well… watch the trailer.

So, was that the villainous cackle of Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid)?

All signs point to yes since, among others, McDiarmid also attended the trailer premiere earlier today to kick off the Star Wars Celebration convention in Chicago.

Despite the trailer looking quite magnificent, I’m not exactly sure how I feel about this news.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit Czech cinemas this Christmas.
