Science fiction horror film Invasion is one of the most fascinating and original titles to hit Czech Republic’s popular Iranian Film Festival this year.
Directed by Shahram Mokri (Fish and Cat), Invasion (Hojoom) is a futuristic and Cronenbergian vision of horror centred around a murder in a sports stadium – following different suspects over the course of a single evening, as they attempt to ‘reenact’ the crime over a series of captivating long shots.
The film premiered in the extraordinary Panorama section of the Berlinale Film Festival last year before moving onto the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic.
Invasion will now screen in the Feature Film Competition of this year’s Iranian Film Festival taking place in Prague, Brno and Bratislava from the 15th – 26th of January.
