Bio OKO’s annual science fiction Future Gate Film Festival has come around again and this year focuses on the theme of ‘Beyond Humanity’. From the 23/02 – 26/02, check out gems like The Terminator and more. Programme highlights below.

Moonwalkers

Not to be confused with the Michael Jackson song.. Moonwalkers is a 2015 film about the Apollo 11 moon landing, and how it never happened. Starring Rupert Grint (Harry Potter) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy), and captured with a proper 60s feel, this is worth a look.

Screening: Thurs Feb 23, 20.00

The Terminator

The science fiction classic about the unstoppable cyborg that shot both James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzaneggar to fame is screening with a bonus discussion after the film. An essential for fans that have never had the chance to see it on the big screen.

Screening: Friday Feb 24, 20:30

Akira

Akira is a Japanese anime classic that has developed a cult following worldwide. Immerse yourself in a post apocalyptic Tokyo with a child who possesses lethal superpowers. An addictive narrative and a visual masterpiece.

Screening: Saturday Feb 25, 17.30

E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial

The classic Steven Spielberg film about the friendly alien that becomes a boy’s best friend, with a tiny little Drew Barrymore! See it on the big screen, probably for the first and last time.

Screening: Sunday Feb 26, 15.00

All films are English friendly. Check out the full Future Gate programme here and hopefully see you there!
