Silence trailer – Scorsese’s most anticipated film?

By Ryan Keating-Lambert

The trailer for director Martin Scorsese’s epic that has been in the pipeline for 28 years has finally dropped! The December release date also puts this film as a last minute Oscar contender. Starring Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver and Liam Neeson, this looks massive. Garfield is certainly doing well for himself lately, with another leading role in Hacksaw Ridge, the ultra-violent Mel Gibson war epic that is also very Christian. There’s only one plausible explanation for this. Andrew Garfield is secretly Jesus?

Silence is set in the 17th century and tells the tale of two Jesuit priests preaching the word of God through the Japanese jungle. Their efforts are met with violent consequences from indigenous locals as they search for their mentor.
