By Ryan Keating-Lambert
Jim Jarmusch is a director that’s managed to survive Hollywood without ever succumbing to the temptation of going full on mainstream. His movies teem with mood, wicked style, incredible wit, and brilliant actors including Johnny Depp, Tilda Swinton, Forest Whitaker, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett and a host of others. The real magic of Jarmusch is his ability to tell us tales of travel and transition. Films like Dead Man and Coffee and Cigarettes also remind us that dialogue is key, and that Iggy Pop can act.
His latest concoction is Paterson, which tells the story of a bus driver and poet named Paterson (Adam Driver)… in Paterson, New Jersey.
