Prague French Film Festival – English friendly programme tips

This year, the Prague French Film Festival boasts a number of titles with both Czech AND English subtitles. From competition films like Cannes hit comedy On a Magical Night to Ladj Ly’s visceral Parisian gang thriller Les Misérables, and a retrospective on French auteur Henri-Georges Clouzot. Prague based cinemas Kino Lucerna, Kino Svetozor, Kino 35 and Edison Filmhub will host the festival from November 20th – 27th.

‘Solo’ – documentary on pianist Martín Perino wins Czech Joy award at Jihlava

New documentary film Solo recently won the Czech Joy award for best Czech documentary at the prestigous Jihlava Documentary Film Festival in the Czech Republic. Pianist and protagonist Martín Perino is currently in the Czech Republic performing and promoting the film, which will be released nationally this Thursday, October 31st through Artcam films.

Solo review – I enjoyed this film a lot more than you

Solo: A Star Wars Story is a refreshing (force free) entry in the Star Wars universe. An entertaining origin story that pays homage to the original character but also stands firmly on its own.
