Although far from perfect, the representation of women in film has somewhat improved in recent years. From Rosamund Pike’s ‘Marla’ in I Care A Lot to Olivia Colman’s ‘Queen Ann’ in The Favourite, women are finally being put front and centre and receiving more opportunities to play characters outside of the usual tropes and stereotypes seen in your typical Hollywood film.
