Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse may be the best animated film of the year

By Ryan Keating-Lambert

The new animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is generating awards buzz and may very well be the best animated movie of the year.

From writer/producer Phil Lord and producer Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie), Into the Spider-Verse is a gorgeous collaborative piece of animated mastery and pushes superhero genre boundaries by being one of the few animated superhero feature films to get a cinema release, as well as a Golden Globe nomination for Best Animated Feature.

Into the Spider-Verse sees Brooklyn teen Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) team up with different Spider-Men (and women) across multiple universes, redefining the very idea of what we consider a superhero to be.

The film features a talented voice cast including Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry, Lily Tomlin, Luna Lauren Velez, Zoe Kravitz, John Mulaney, Nicolas Cage, Kimiko Glenn, Kathryn Hahn, Liev Schreiber, Chris Pine, Natalie Morales and more.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be in Czech cinemas from December 13.

The film will be screened in both its original version with Czech subtitles, and with Czech dubbing.
