The new Czech biopic Jan Palach will have English subtitled screenings at ‘Catch-Up Tuesday’ in Prague’s Kino Světozor on September 4 and 11.
Directed by Robert Sedláček (Rules of Lies), Jan Palach is a historical drama based on the last six months of the real-life historical figure, played by Viktor Zavadil, who burnt himself alive to protest the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia during the Prague Spring in 1969.
Also starring Zuzana Bydžovská and Michael Balcar, Jan Palach’s release coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Soviet invasion.
Join me for two special English subtitled screenings of the film at the Catch-Up Tuesday film night on Tuesday September 4th and Tuesday September 11th at 20:45 in Prague’s Kino Světozor.
Catch-Up Tuesday is a new weekly film night dedicated to showing contemporary foreign films with English subtitles, hosted by myself and Kino Světozor.
Tickets and more through Kino Světozor.
