Oscar candidate Loveless to premiere in Kino Lucerna

By Ryan Keating-Lambert

Be2Can distribution will premiere Russian Oscar candidate Loveless in Prague’s Kino Lucerna on the 18th of January.

From Andrei Zvyagintsev (Leviathan), Loveless tells the story of a bitterly divorced couple whose son disappears after a heated argument. The film is a passionate and seemingly apocalyptic study on human relationships in modern Russia, particularly in the upper middle class, similar to Zvyagintsev’s earlier film Elena.

Loveless also earned itself a Jury Prize at Cannes and was in the Feature Film Competition at Be2Can Festival in Prague last year. Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated director Andrei Zvyagintsev is considered by many to be the successor of the great Russian auteur Andrei Tarkovsky, and highly motivated by Russia’s current socio-political issues.

Be2Can distribution will celebrate the film’s official release with an exclusive English friendly screening and party in Kino Lucerna on the 18th of January at 20:00.
