The Leftovers and Lost writer Damon Lindelof is currently in talks for a television adaptation of Watchmen with HBO.
Based on the critically acclaimed graphic novel by Alan Moore, and also adapted into a film directed by Zack Snyder in 2009, Watchmen sees a group of damaged superheroes struggle to maintain peace in a post-Vietnam Nixon-ruling America. Set in the 1980s, the story is a clever political statement on what could have been, and what might still be.
No word from the novel’s author Alan Moore as of yet, who condemned the film version. Good luck, Lindelof!
